AfterQuery is hiring a Business Operations lead to work directly with our CEO as we scale to become one of the fastest-growing AI companies of all time. You will be the operational backbone of the company—owning our hiring pipeline, managing day-to-day administration, and ensuring the founding team's time is protected and focused on what matters most.
This is an in-person role. You'll be embedded with the founding team in San Francisco, moving at the speed of the company.
AfterQuery is a research lab investigating the boundaries and capabilities of artificial intelligence through novel datasets and experimentation. Our customers are the foundation model labs—we serve all of the frontier AI labs.
We are based in San Francisco, CA, and have raised funding from top investors, including Y Combinator and BoxGroup, ex-partners from Lightspeed and Index Ventures, and senior leadership at Google DeepMind and Meta GenAI.
Our founding team brings backgrounds from Jane Street, Meta, Citadel Securities, Google, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Silver Lake, and Palantir.
Responsibilities

Track record of owning ambiguous, high-stakes projects and delivering results under tight timelines
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable with data, metrics, and building lightweight tools/dashboards
Obsessive attention to detail paired with strategic thinking and business judgment
Extreme ownership mentality—you see problems and fix them without being asked
Thrives in fast-paced, unstructured environments; comfortable with rapid context-switching
Collaborative, low-ego, high-trust operator who earns respect through execution
Requirements
