Application Scientist, Pharmaceuticals Europe

Job Summary

The current opening of  Application Scientist is an important ingredients and applications development role, locally based in Geesthacht, regionally serving customers widely across the EMENA region while globally being embedded into the global Sensient Pharmaceuticals Business Unit with functional and business leadership based in Saint Louis, USA.

What you will do:

• Ensure comprehensive application advise on the application of Sensient products

• Provide Technical R&D Support for the internal teams and customer projects, flavors, extracts, & colors and coatings in end applications

• Develop technical concepts and solutions in accordance with requests from sales/distribution and marketing

• Improve customer loyalty through technical seminars, training and presentation of innovative concepts

• Education and training of Sensient Group employees and sales/distribution representatives

• Collaborate and learn from Sensient’s global excellence centers in flavors and/or colors

• Overseeing production trials on new products for the pharma business unit and assisting on production issues with Pharma products

What you’ll bring

• Professional experience in R&D and Application in the pharma or food ingredients industry, preferably utilizing flavor and/or flavoring systems

• BSc. or MSc in food science, food chemistry, food technology or pharmaceutical technology OR Apprenticeship in related fields

• Fluent oral and written in English, German and any other European language skills are an advantage

• Formulation experience in flavors, flavor applications, sensory knowledge, or food-based applications. Nice to have experience in colors and coating systems

• Knowledge of project management and analytical techniques, experience delivering technical presentations for internal and external customers
