Actuarial Analyst
Quick Summary
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computational Finance, or a related field of study, plus two (2) years of experience with personal lines of insurance.
Work closely with underwriting to develop pricing and underwriting strategies and assist in the execution and monitoring of said strategies. Complete profitability studies on assigned programs and present analysis in front of business partners at varying levels of the organization. Engage with MGA underwriters and actuaries. Perform various ad hoc pricing tasks including profitability studies, development of new products, rates and other KPI monitoring, and filing support. Work with underwriters and the rate filings unit to manage program specific and state rate filings. Produce and distribute relevant recurring reports as required. Apply working knowledge of programming skills in SQL, Python, VBA and R. Utilize data visualization tools including Tableau or PowerBI. Support the development and maintenance of pricing tools such as pricing models, raters, and other analytical tools. Work with personal lines of insurance.
