Air-tek is a Canadian-based software company with a powerful suite of unique products that have already achieved a significant share of a huge global market. The product market fit is excellent, and customers are lining up to buy. Although our global customers know us, we intentionally operate in stealth mode during this growth phase.

Our diverse team shares a collective passion for solving complex problems with a drive to innovate and a desire to create the passenger-centric travel industry. Based in Toronto, our inclusive culture is built on trust, collaboration, delivering a great product, and continuous personal development. We love what we do, and we support the team around us.

We’re looking for a Director Engineering, Shared Services to lead the foundational teams that enable our product organization to build, ship, and operate high-quality enterprise software at scale. This role will bring together Infrastructure, DevOps, and Quality Assurance into a unified shared services organization focused on reliability, scalability, operational excellence, delivery efficiency, and product quality.

This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader who thrives in complex, customer-facing enterprise SaaS environments and brings strong systems thinking. You’ll strengthen operating models, improve cross-functional collaboration, elevate developer experience and quality practices, and help create a durable foundation for future growth as we scale to serve global airline customers.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the Infrastructure, DevOps, and Quality Assurance teams as a unified Shared Services organization
  • Champion high engineering standards around architecture, testing, reliability, security, performance, and operational excellence
  • Establish clear workflows, SOPs, intake standards, and service models for shared engineering work
  • Drive a platform-minded approach to infrastructure, DevOps, tooling, environments, automation, and robust QA practices
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Delivery, Services, and leadership to clarify priorities, manage dependencies, and improve execution
  • Improve delivery predictability, estimation, release management, incident response, and change management practices
  • Build a high-trust culture with clear roles, ownership, accountability, and career paths across shared services teams
  • Improve developer experience through better tooling, automation, environments, CI/CD practices, and operational standards
  • Develop a deep understanding of the technical architecture and business requirements to identify capacity, reliability, security, and delivery constraints
  • Define and execute a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with company goals, customer expectations, and engineering priorities
  • Proven experience leading infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, QA, or shared engineering services teams in a high-growth enterprise SaaS environment
  • Strong technical background in cloud-first architectures, distributed systems, APIs, infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and enterprise software delivery
  • Experience improving engineering operating models, delivery predictability, release management, and cross-functional execution
  • Experience designing scalable systems, reducing operational overhead, and improving reuse, consistency, and maintainability
  • Strong understanding of QA strategy, automated testing, test coverage, defect management, and quality practices across the software development lifecycle
  • Comfort operating in environments with external partners, incomplete requirements, complex delivery dependencies, and high customer expectations
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical tradeoffs, risks, and priorities clearly and empathetically
  • A hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail, a bias for action, and a track record of building healthy, high-performing teams
  • Ability to identify and balance priorities in a high-growth, scale-up organization supporting B2B and B2B2C customers
  • AWS
  • Kubernetes - EKS
  • Kafka - MKS
  • Mongodb -Atlas
  • C# / .NET Core
  • RabbitMQ
  • Iac - Terraform/Pulumi
