The Designer – Process supports the creation, updating, and quality checking of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using SmartPlant P&ID (SPID) and other drafting tools for global ASU and process plant projects. Works under guidance from Lead Designers and Engineers to ensure accurate, high‑quality documentation.

• Works as an Individual Contributor in the global multi‑office PDO environment.
• Produces 2D drafting deliverables based on markups from Process & Systems Engineers.
• Performs Basic, Advanced, and pre‑publish quality checks.
• Uses Smart P&ID, MicroStation V8i, SmartSketch, BlueBeam, AutoCAD and reporting tools.
• Supports cross‑functional reviews and ensures documentation alignment with standards.
 

• →Prepare, update, and deliver PFDs and P&IDs based on engineering markups.
• →Generate SPID critical quantity and data reports.
• →Pre‑publish checks to ensure deliverable accuracy.
• →Support Systems Engineers with data verification.
• →Maintain drafting consistency aligned with AP standards and procedures.
• →Coordinate with Lead Designers and Process/Systems Engineers for updates and clarifications.
• →Manage tag data, equipment lists, instrument lists, and valve lists within SPID.
• →Support digital workflows and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required:

• Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

• Good reading, writing and speak in English
• Minimum 5 years of experience drafting PFDs and P&IDs using SmartPlant P&ID (SPID).
  • Proficiency in SPID, MicroStation V8i, SmartSketch, and BlueBeam.
  • Ability to perform data quality checks.
  • Ability to generate SPID reports (All Tags, Equipment, Instrument, Valves, SP Items).
   

Preferred:

• Experience in ASU lant engineering environments.
• Familiarity with global execution work processes.
 

Licenses / Certifications:

• Mandatory completion of Air Products safety and compliance training.

Standard engineering office hours with flexibility for global collaboration.

Up to 10–15% travel for coordination meetings, reviews, or site support as needed.
