ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Overview
The Area Lead will play a critical role in supporting the success of Alistair Group’s offshore logistics and supply chain operations. This position focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, reducing commercial risk, and strengthening local capacity within DRC's growing oil and gas and mining sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel between operational sites in the DRC, including key logistics and mining/oil & gas corridors as required by the business;
- Support the development, expansion, and operational viability of strategic logistics, warehousing, terminal, and inland infrastructure opportunities within the DRC;
- Interface with government authorities, regulatory bodies, customers, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve operational challenges, and ensure compliance with local requirements;
- Act as the representative and “face” of Alistair Group within the DRC market;
- Identify, develop, and maximize commercial opportunities and strategic relationships for the Group’s logistics, transport, energy, mining, and infrastructure services in the DRC;
- Advise on commercial and operational strategies to optimize supply chain, transport, and remote site logistics operations;
- Enhance supply chain efficiency and operational performance to minimize financial, operational, and compliance risks within complex operating environments;
- Provide expertise on cost optimization initiatives, procurement strategies, supplier management, and commercial negotiations;
- Guide the scalability and operational readiness of infrastructure and logistics solutions to support current and future customer demands;
- Support localization initiatives through the transfer of skills, operational knowledge, and capability development for Congolese personnel;
- Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and competitor activity within the DRC to support strategic business growth;
- Support cross-functional collaboration between operations, commercial, procurement, and compliance teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer delivery.
