Introduction:
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, is the regional leader in establishing high-quality clinical service and academic programs. The current clinical facility consists of 82 beds, including a fast track, separate adult and paediatric emergency units, cardiac emergency, a clinical decision unit, resuscitation rooms, isolation rooms, and triage. The main Emergency Department (ED) provides care to over 75,000 patients a year. Most patients require complex medical and surgical/trauma care. In addition, the department supervises a satellite free-standing emergency department.
The Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Coordinator, Department of Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for departmental academic activities, including UGME/PGME (Residency and Fellowship) programs, teaching schedules, examinations, OSCEs, workshops, evaluations on PowerApps software, academic records, and educational committees.
- Coordinate end-to-end trainee administration, including recruitment, interviews, onboarding, communication, engagement, educational support, and maintenance of trainee records.
- Maintain data regarding student evaluations, and performance and be able to produce summary reports.
- Assist the UGME/PGME director and coordinator in various administrative tasks.
- Coordination of faculty profile updates with the Dean’s Office.
- Support in faculty promotion processes, including preparation and submission of dossiers
- Organize departmental events and workshops, including circulating flyers and making logistical arrangements, acquiring CME hours
- Support departmental and hospital committees as needed.
Requirements:
You should have:
- a master’s degree in business management, healthcare management or any other relevant discipline
- strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with different stakeholders
- ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
- familiarity with diverse functions of hospital operations
- excellent communication and report writing skills
- strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and team-management skills;
- proficient in use of computer packages e.g. MS Office
