Join our Kaukauna R&D Product Engineering team and help develop high-performance products that make tissue and paper manufacturing more efficient, sustainable, and productive.

We also create engineered fabrics for the nonwoven, corrugator, building products, tannery, and textile industries. At our Kaukauna location, you will play a key role in developing and manufacturing high-performance fabrics used on conventional, TAD, and other tissue machines around the world. In this hands-on engineering role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve real-world challenges, support product development and manufacturing, and drive improvements in performance, quality, and sustainability. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will help deliver innovative solutions for some of the world’s largest tissue producers.

Responsibilities

  • →Support development of custom-engineered fabrics that improve paper machine efficiency, sheet quality, dryness, energy performance, softness, bulk, and absorbency.
  • →Design and evaluate new weave patterns through laboratory testing, modeling, pilot loom trials, and manufacturing-scale validation.
  • →Analyze performance data, troubleshoot issues, and document manufacturing centerlines.
  • →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, solve complex challenges, and deliver high-impact solutions for customers.

A tissue machine can produce hundreds of tons each day, and unplanned downtime can cost a customer hundreds of thousands of dollars daily. The products you help create are essential to reliable machine operation and the production of high-quality tissue. Your ideas and engineering decisions can have a direct, measurable impact for customers around the world.

·   Conducts pilot trials and/or laboratory tests on multiple projects both independently and as a team member.

·   Builds and tests laboratory prototypes of new product concepts.

·   Produces documents, summarizes, interprets and reports laboratory data in support of an assigned R&D project and/or technical service task.

·   Generates ideas for research or new products.

·   Plans, conducts, schedules, and coordinates small projects.

·   Gains knowledge of Albany products and markets

·   Uses knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing and laboratory equipment and testing processes to solve problems.

·       Exercises judgment on the progress of the work and makes changes to tasks as needed.

·       Delivers written reports and/or oral technical presentations on test or pilot trial results to leaders and managers.

·       Designs custom equipment modifications or develops custom test methods as needed.

·       Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop, test, and optimize products, processes and materials.

Requirements

·   Applied Statistics and Design-of-Experiments Methodology

·   Problem solving skills

·   Good oral and written English skills

·   Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Required Experience:

·  2+ years work experience in an R&D, engineering, lab or equivalent technical/project work experience preferred.

Education Requirements:

High School Diplomar     College diplomar    Bachelor Degree x   Masters degreer
