As the Data Analytics & AI/ML Solutions Senior Engineer under the Smart Technology Dept, you will be responsible for transforming manufacturing data into actionable business intelligence, predictive insights, and AI-driven solutions that accelerate Alcon's Lights-Out Manufacturing vision. This role bridges manufacturing operations, process engineering, OT/IT systems, and advanced analytics to develop scalable solutions that improve quality, productivity, reliability, and cost performance across global manufacturing sites.
The position serves as a solution delivery engineer within the Smart Tech CoE, translating shopfloor challenges into validated, scalable, and reusable AI/ML applications that can be deployed across multiple sites. The CoE's objective is to convert manufacturing problems into secure, scalable solutions and replicate them globally.
- Develop and deploy data‑driven solutions using manufacturing data (e.g., machine data, quality data, MES/SCADA data) for manufacturing performance improvement
- Build predictive and prescriptive models utilizing production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain data.
- Analyse manufacturing process variability and identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop statistical models to improve operational performance and efficiencies (e.g. OEE, yield, scrap reduction, and throughput).
- Create manufacturing intelligence frameworks to support data-driven decision making.
- Develop MLOps pipelines to support scalable deployment and model lifecycle management.
- Ensure solutions comply with GxP, validation, cybersecurity, and data governance requirements.
- Design executive dashboards and operational control towers that connect with real-time manufacturing KPIs and predictive alerts.
- Education: Bachelor / Master degree in Data Science, AI or Machine Learning Engineering, Computer Science Engineering.
- Experience: 3–8 years of direct hands-on experience manufacturing data analytics, AI / ML development in implementing smart factory solutions / industrial digital transformation. Understanding of fast pace GMP manufacturing environment would be added advantages.
- Comfortable to be based at Tuas site, transport provided from Boon Lay, Kranji and Outram Park MRT.
