  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply plans, specifications, procedures, technical documents, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check which includes 7-year employment verification, Department of Motor Vehicles record search, criminal record search.
  • Ability to pass HAZWOPER physical and wear a respirator as required for
  • Must be available for short-to-long-term assignments that will require overnight travel. Per diem and expenses will be provided.
  • Apply radiation safety measures and utilize protective equipment to ensure the safety of personnel, the public, and the environment in accordance with ALARA principles.
  • Perform radiological surveys, contamination assessments, and monitoring activities using appropriate instrumentation and established procedures.
  • Identify, characterize, package, label, transport, and document hazardous and/or radioactive materials in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain adequate inventories of radiological supplies, monitoring equipment, and personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure radiological and environmental monitoring equipment is routinely inspected, calibrated, serviced, and maintained in proper working conditions.
  • Assist waste management personnel with the preparation, loading, packaging, and securement of waste containers.
  • Load, unload, identify, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and supplies according to project plans and specifications.
  • Fuel, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on equipment as directed by supervision.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and promptly report deficiencies or safety concerns.
  • Control site traffic and serve as a spotter for heavy equipment operating within remediation and waste management areas.
  • Clean, prepare, and maintain remediation sites to eliminate potential hazards and support safe work operations.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate the safe alignment, movement, and positioning of machinery, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports related to radiological activities, waste management, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support environmental remediation, decontamination, and waste management projects in accordance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work outdoors in all weather conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous

  • This is an Onsite position that requires work to be performed onsite at an Aleut Federal location. 
  • This position requires regularly working in outside weather conditions. Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration.
  • Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

Pay rate and Benefits:

$40.63/hour
