~1 min readWe are currently looking for a Digital Manufacturing Data Architect to join our team in Aguascalientes. This position will be responsible for designing, governing, and evolving the manufacturing data architecture that enables Nissan's digital transformation initiatives. The role will lead projects focused on integrating plant and business data into centralized data platforms, supporting Industry 4.0 technologies, advanced analytics, AI initiatives, and data-driven decision-making that improve Quality, Efficiency, and Cost KPIs.
The Digital Manufacturing Data Architect will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, IT, Digital Manufacturing teams, and external suppliers to deliver scalable digital solutions, develop business cases with strong ROI, and drive projects from concept through stabilization.

Aguascalientes Aguascalientes MexicoDesign and define the target manufacturing data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, semantic layers, and data domains. Lead data integration initiatives connecting SCADA, MES, IoT, ERP, and other manufacturing systems to centralized platforms. Establish and maintain data governance standards, ensuring data quality, security, accessibility, and compliance requirements. Develop technology roadmaps that support Digital Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives. Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics, automation, and AI to generate business value. Lead cross-functional projects from business case creation through implementation and stabilization. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver innovative manufacturing solutions. Create executive presentations and business cases demonstrating project benefits and return on investment. Support the migration of manufacturing data from isolated systems into centralized and governed platforms. Monitor project execution, budget utilization, and achievement of expected business outcomes. Partner with Digital Manufacturing, IT, and business leaders to align technology solutions with organizational objectives. Promote data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. At least 1 year of experience defining data architectures, governance models, data platforms, or analytics solutions within manufacturing or complex enterprise environments. Experience with data modeling, data integration, and enterprise data architecture. Knowledge of Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Domains, Semantic Layers, and Data Governance principles. Experience integrating manufacturing systems such as SCADA, MES, IoT, and ERP platforms. Understanding of data quality, access control, security, and analytics enablement. Strong project management and stakeholder management skills. Ability to develop business cases and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
Master's degree or professional certifications in Data Architecture, Data Governance, Cloud Data Platforms, AI, or Analytics. Automotive manufacturing industry experience. Experience with Snowflake or comparable modern cloud-based data platforms. Knowledge of predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and generative AI solutions. Familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks and data product operating models. Experience leading digital transformation or Industry 4.0 initiatives. Strong change management, consulting, facilitation, and benchmarking capabilities.
