Senior Accountant, Capital Projects

This is an opportunity to join one of Tulsa's premier energy companies and make an immediate impact in the Controller's Department. We are seeking an experienced Capital Projects Accountant. This position requires expertise in project and fixed asset accounting, including hands-on work in Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management (PPM), and serves as the backup to our Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets. Responsibilities will vary depending on the level and experience of the individual. Based upon experience, specific responsibilities may include:
- Set up and maintain AFE capital projects and assign budget lines in Oracle Fusion PPM
- Track AFE projects monthly and report on projects in deferred AFE status
- Track capital expenditures compared to capital budgets and identify budget overruns on AFE projects
- Assist Operations Business Managers with their capital questions, budget overages and substitutions
- Process capital budget substitutions as needed
- Record monthly capital accruals as requested by mines and reverse prior-month accrual entries
- Reconcile Construction Work in Progress (CWIP) accounts monthly
- Verify retainage balances and review retention/retainage schedules quarterly
- Provide project completion and cost data to support clearing completed projects from CWIP to fixed assets
- Assist Operations Business Managers with formulating capital budgets for the next year
- Prepare budget templates, upload Board-approved budget lines, and update CWIP budgets for additional Board-approved capital
- Tie out current year capital to the Board-approved budget
- Prepare the carryover capital listing of unfinished projects and transfer year-end CWIP data to the new year
- Assist Operations Business Managers with funding completed projects that exceed budget tolerance levels and requesting additional funding for incomplete projects
- Set up annual data for discretionary capital
- Assist with audit materials for capital project inquiries
- Serve as backup to the Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets for asset additions, depreciation and PP&E reconciliations
- Troubleshoot and resolve system or reporting issues, working closely with support teams when necessary.

- Ability to sit at a desk and work at a computer for prolonged periods of time
- Full-time onsite role based in Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Experience with Oracle Cloud applications, particularly Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and Fixed Assets
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fields
- Experience with Advanced Excel and Copilot (or similar tools)
