Early Career Trial Attorney (Hybrid - McAllen, TX)

• →Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
• →Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• →Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
• →Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• →Interview clients and witnesses, as well as drafting summaries of their statements and maintaining communication records.
• →Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
• →Monitor changes in laws and regulations and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.
• →Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to more complex legal work.

• Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

• Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.
• Demonstrates strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.
• Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions.
• Well-versed in legal ethics and the standards of professional conduct.
• Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
• Must be commutable distance to courthouses in McAllen, TX and surrounding cities/counties.
