Mainframe Consultant(Network)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level z/OS Network Engineer to join our infrastructure engineering team. In this role, you will support the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of networking services that enable critical z/OS mainframe environments. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies, TCP/IP configuration, connectivity troubleshooting, and mainframe communication services that support business-critical applications. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with an interest in networking, operating systems, and enterprise infrastructure.

• →Assist in the administration and support of z/OS network environments.
• →Monitor network performance, availability, and connectivity across mainframe systems.
• →Support TCP/IP configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• →Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis of network-related issues.
• →Collaborate with application, systems, security, and infrastructure teams to resolve connectivity challenges.
• →Assist with implementing network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• →Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
• →Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance activities as skills develop.
• →Learn and apply network security and compliance standards in a mainframe environment.
• →Support disaster recovery and business continuity testing activities.

• This job does not have supervisory duties.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• Exposure to IBM z/OS or mainframe technologies.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
• Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Experience with Python, REXX, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
• Basic understanding of cloud networking concepts.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
