Lead Software Engineer

review designs, pair with engineers and share practices. Keep shipping hands-on: this role writes code every week. What You’ll Bring Strong experience as a software engineer,
Alternative Payments is building the financial operating system for SMBs, consolidating the disconnected tech stack that holds service-based businesses back. Starting with MSPs, we’ve spent five years perfecting accounts receivable, and we’re now expanding into accounts payable, AI-powered analytics, and beyond. We’re at an inflection point: closing the loop on money movement and laying the foundation for a platform that will reshape how service businesses operate financially.
We’re growing fast, thinking big, and building a global team that wants to be part of something that lasts. We believe the best solutions come from diverse perspectives, deep collaboration, and a shared obsession with customer impact. If you’re energized by real problems, real customers, and real impact, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help set the technical direction of Alti, our AI agent product. Alti launched in July 2026 and has moved past MVP. The next step is scaling it into a core product of our platform: more agents, more automated routines, and our own machine learning models alongside LLMs.
You’re a product engineer who has built AI features in production and can raise the bar for the whole squad. You’ll own technical decisions across Alti, define how we evaluate and monitor AI features, and become a reference for AI across our product teams. This is a technical leadership role, not a people management role.

Experience with chatbots/conversational AI, RAG and LLM evaluation pipelines.
Strong skills in at least one of Go, TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
Autonomy to define a process in a new area, not only execute one.
A product mindset: you care about what gets delivered to users, not only the model.
