Founded in 1984 as American Academy of Gymnastics, American Kids Sports Center (AKSC) has grown into one of California's most unique and successful kids sports center.  Under the direction of owners Mike & Sheri Williams, AKSC has established an organization that sees its purpose as helping children to learn strong VALUES with which they will set worthy GOALS and for which we must train them in the SKILLS needed to achieve those goals.  Sport training is the tool we use to achieve that purpose.

About the Role

  • We provide swim instruction to our community that builds confidence and develops safety skills in a student-centered environment. We are committed to training our team to teach swim lessons, by giving them the tools they need to be successful. This is a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace. We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves teaching and being around water. 
  • As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each class and teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with parents, students and fellow team members. You should be someone who welcomes feedback and is a continuous learner. We offer paid training, starting wage will be determined by applicant's prior experience. Positions open for morning/afternoon/evening and weekend shifts.

  • Follow our curriculum with a focus on the needs, abilities and comfort of each student.

Requirements

  • The ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 5 hours.
  • The ability to commit to at least 1 year of employment, afternoons and weekends required.
  • Candidates must be available to work one of the following set shifts: 3:25 pm or 3:40 pm
