Yardhand / Sales Assistant VC

American Stone is hiring a full-time Yardhand / Sales Assistant to support customers, assist with yard operations, and support sales at our Vancouver, Washington location.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in construction, landscaping, stone, flooring, masonry, building materials, tools, equipment, or related industries.

You will help customers select and locate products, load materials, support order fulfillment, maintain the yard, and assist the sales team with customer service and sales opportunities.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with contractors, builders, subcontractors, homeowners, and project-based customers. Candidates with practical industry knowledge and experience working with materials, tools, equipment, or job-site environments will receive strong consideration.

Candidates with strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

This is a primarily on-site position based at our Vancouver location. Candidates must be local and available to work during business hours, including Saturdays.

• →Assist contractors, builders, homeowners, and walk-in customers with product questions and material selection
• →Help customers locate products and materials throughout the yard
• →Use knowledge of construction materials, landscaping, stone, tools, or related products to support customer decisions
• →Load customer vehicles and support order fulfillment
• →Assist the sales team with customer service, quotes, orders, and sales opportunities
• →Recommend relevant products and identify appropriate upsell opportunities
• →Coordinate with the sales and yard teams to fulfill customer needs
• →Support product stocking, organization, and yard cleanliness
• →Operate forklifts or other equipment safely after training and authorization
• →Assist customers with practical material, tool, and product questions
• →Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• →Assist with general maintenance and cleanup tasks
• →Provide friendly and professional customer service
• →Follow all company safety procedures and report safety concerns
• →Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, move, and load materials safely
• Ability to work in a fast-paced yard, warehouse, construction, or operational environment

• Basic computer skills, including email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and data entry
• Valid driver's license
• Availability to work during business hours, including Saturdays when needed
• Ability to pass dr*g screening

• Direct experience in construction, landscaping, stone, flooring, masonry, building materials, tools, equipment, or related industries
• Experience working with contractors, builders, subcontractors, or homeowners
• Experience in warehouse, yard, retail, or customer service
• Forklift, loader, trailer, heavy equipment, or tool experience
• Sales, upselling, or order-support experience
• Familiarity with job-site or outdoor work environments
• Spanish-speaking skills
