Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician I (IV Production) supports the Infusion Pharmacist by helping prepare and fill medication orders accurately and efficiently. This role helps ensure patients receive their infusion therapies safely and on timeThe technician works under the Pharmacy IV Workflow Supervisor, following all pharmacy policies and safety guidelines, in a production capacity (as opposed to primarily compounding medications). 


Duties include preparing medications, packaging, managing inventory, and safely handling hazardous drugs. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong focus on patient care.


Schedule Details 

  • Location: On-Site, Orange, CA. 
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Accurately and efficiently prepares prescription orders in a timely manner
  • Complies with all hazardous drug handling policies and procedures
  • Packages medications with precision and timeliness
  • Prepares infusion supplies according to order specifications
  • Assembles infusion supply prepacks for dispensing
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitors and maintains appropriate inventory levels of IV medications, supplies, and equipment
    • Ensures accuracy of quantities and lot numbers
    • Responsible for ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and related supplies as needed
  • Reports relevant issues to the Pharmacy IV Workflow Supervisor, including:
    • Medication inventory discrepancies
    • Infusion supply concerns
    • Packaging issues
    • Delays in meeting deadlines
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Specialty Pharmacy 
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven time management abilities with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines
  • Solid understanding of general mathematics
  • Familiarity with drug nomenclature and medical terminology
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Capable of performing well in fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Active and clear California Pharmacy Technician License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
