Amherst College invites applications for the Assistant Coach - Women's Tennis position. The Assistant Coach - Women's Tennis is a full-time, 12-month position.
The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $40,000-42,000 per year.
The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations. The Assistant Coach - Women’s Tennis supports the team's Head Coach in all aspects of the program's operation. This includes student-athlete development, recruiting, team logistics, and compliance. The role requires flexibility to work some nights, weekends, and to travel overnight for away games and tournaments. The Assistant Coach - Women’s Tennis takes appropriate actions to support a diverse student body and workforce and participates in the College’s efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
- Communicate with recruits and their families through phone, email, and in-person visits.
- Coordinate and participate in on-campus recruiting visits and events.
- Ensure all recruiting activities comply with institutional, conference, and NCAA guidelines.
- Maintain records related to team activities, recruiting, and travel.
- Assist the Head Coach with administrative tasks and program planning as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience
- Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience (collegiate or competitive level preferred)
- Understanding of the role of athletics in a competitive academic environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive college vehicles; must successfully complete the Five College Risk Management driver credentialing program
- Willingness and availability to work nights, weekends, and travel overnight as required
- Successful completion of required pre-employment physical and lift test, background and reference checks
