Amprius Technologies (NYSE: AMPX) is a leader in high-energy, high-power lithium-ion batteries built on silicon anode technology. Our SiCore® and SiMaxx™ cells power unmanned aerial systems, aviation and other applications where weight and energy density matter most. Headquartered in Fremont, California, Amprius designs cells in house and produces them through a global network of contract manufacturing partners.
We are looking for a Senior Global Supply Manager to manage our contract manufacturing and toll manufacturing partners and own the landed cost of our cells. You will run the CM relationships day to day, qualify new partners, negotiate agreements, and lead the cost roadmap and cost-reduction work that makes our products more competitive. Reporting to Head of Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
~1 min read• Own the relationship and roadmap with each active CM, including quarterly business reviews.
• Lead sourcing, audits, sample builds and production qualification for new CMs.
• Negotiate CM agreements covering pricing, capacity, schedules and the business model over time.
• Track CM performance on cost, yield and on-time delivery with Quality and Commercial Operations.
• Own the landed cell cost model for every product: CM costs, materials, freight, tariffs and duties. Update it quarterly.
• Find and lead cost-reduction projects with CMs and suppliers.
• Build tariff and duty mitigation options with Finance, Legal and logistics partners.
• Lead and develop a Global Supply Manager and a Cost Analyst.
• Back up the Head of Supply Chain on CM topics.
Requirements
~1 min read• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business or a related field.
• 8+ years in sourcing or supplier management, including 4+ years managing contract manufacturers.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience writing manufacturing or supply agreements.
• Experience building should-cost and landed cost models, including tariffs and duties.
• Willing to travel internationally regularly, up to 35%, mainly to CM sites in Asia.
Nice to Have
~1 min read• Lithium-ion cell or battery manufacturing, or other process-heavy manufacturing (semiconductors, displays, chemicals).
• Experience with toll manufacturing or consignment models.
• Understanding of trade compliance, country-of-origin rules and NDAA requirements.
• People-management experience.
