Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a Therapeutic Radiation Therapist/Radiation Therapist to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the VA Caribbean Healthcare System located at 10 Calle Casia, San Juan, PR 00921. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities 

• Provide therapeutic radiation treatments to patients in accordance with prescribed treatment plans and established radiation oncology standards.
• Operate radiation therapy treatment machines, imaging equipment, and CT simulation equipment.
• Position patients accurately for treatment and maintain appropriate markings, immobilization, shielding, and other positioning aids.
• Perform CT simulations and acquire imaging and treatment-planning data as prescribed.
• Perform 3D conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).
• Prepare treatment, simulation, imaging, and ancillary equipment and perform required equipment and radiation-field checks.
• Produce radiographic images used for treatment planning, field shaping, tumor localization, and patient setup.
• Follow all radiation safety requirements, including NRC regulations and ALARA principles.
• Verify patient identity and complete required safety procedures prior to treatment.
• Maintain accurate patient treatment records and document daily treatment notes in the VA electronic health record within required timeframes.
• Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available and operational.
• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, peer review, chart rounds, daily huddles, and required staff meetings.
• Follow all applicable VA, HIPAA, privacy, infection-control, patient-safety, and Radiation Oncology policies and procedures.
• Perform related administrative and clerical duties and report unusual incidents or patient-safety concerns as required

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Therapeutic Radiologic Technology/Radiation Therapy program with a certificate or associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited program.
• Current ARRT certification/registration in Radiation Therapy, ARRT (T).
• Minimum of one year of experience with radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment.
• Minimum of one year of experience delivering prescribed therapeutic radiation treatments, including experience with 3D-CRT, IMRT, and IGRT.
• Experience treating radiation therapy patients and delivering treatment accurately and consistently.
• Experience using ARIA clinical software.
• Knowledge of radiation therapy treatment-planning quality assurance.
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
• Must maintain required continuing education, certifications, and competency requirements.
• Must meet VA credentialing, privileging, personnel vetting/background investigation, mandatory training, and health/immunization requirements.
• Must meet applicable AHA BLS/ACLS certification requirements.
