Quality Section Manager

Summary

Quality Section Manager for Production Transceiver Qualification & Reliability will lead a team responsible for ensuring the performance, durability, reliability and compliance of current and next-generation optical transceivers. This role combines technical expertise in quality & reliability engineering with strong leadership and communication skills to drive qualification programs that meet industry standards and customer expectations. The quality section manager will be a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding quality engineering, production verification technologies and a passion for quality excellence.

Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Team Management

• Lead qualification and reliability test programs for transceiver products including 100G/200G/400G/800G transceivers.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to define and execute test strategies and standards. Supervise and mentor reliability engineers and technicians.
• Conduct performance reviews and support career development.
• Build and mentor a high-performing reliability engineering team, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Quality Compliance, Test Development & Execution

• Ensure product qualification testing aligns with ISO9001, TL9000, Telcordia GR-468, and other industry standards.
• Design and manage stress tests (HTOL, TC, uBDH, BDH, ESD-HBM etc.) per Telcordia, JEDEC, MIL-STD-833, etc. standards and customer requirements.
• Ensure test procedures are robust and repeatable.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Establish and optimize reliability test infrastructure and protocols aligned with corresponding industry standards.
• Analyze reliability data and failure modes.
• Drive process improvements and documentation accuracy.
• Generate comprehensive qualification reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for reliability failures, improving product robustness and reducing field returns RMA (return material authorization).

Customer & Audit Support and Management

• Represent the quality team in customer audits and technical reviews.
• Provide technical responses and justifications for qualification results.
• Support customer audits and technical engagements, contributing to successful design wins and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in optical transceiver reliability testing or qualification engineering. Deep understanding of transceiver architecture and failure mechanisms.
• Experience with environmental chambers, optical test equipment, and reliability analysis tools. Familiarity with Telcordia GR-468, JEDEC JESD22, and other relevant standards.

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
