Computer Operator - 3rd Shift

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Mailstar Operations Team as a Computer Operator. We have a 3rd shift opening from 12:00 am to 8:00 am, Monday - Friday. Responsibilities include operating a computer console, peripheral devices, and computer support devices under general supervision. The position requires the person to:

• Interpret console messages from system software and application programs and perform required action
• Observe ongoing operations and analyzes performance to identify problems and inform appropriate personnel
• Operate peripheral devices and computer support devices
• Maintain knowledge about the operating characteristics, maintenance requirements of peripheral devices, computer operating procedures and standards
• Assist with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere on request

A high school education and computer operator education or production printing environment related job experience is preferred. Working knowledge of computer operations and operating environment for applications programs and operating software desired. Ability to understand and follow complex verbal or written programs. A desire to develop further through internal and external study programs. Must be willing to work an assigned shift.
