Coordinador(a) de Eventos y Ministerio/Events and Ministry Coordinator (Onsite)

- The coordinator role is part time, volunteer, serving 2 small communities housing University/College students located in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.
- The coordinator will live onsite at the community and must be able to accommodate a studio apartment unit which is ideal for a single adult.
- It is not a paid role. A rent concession is provided for the apartment unit by the management. The coordinator is responsible only for monthly utilities.
- The volunteer role can be completed during evenings and weekends.
- The coordinator will plan and host several activities each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability.
- The coordinator will create a monthly schedule that includes community activities and/or workshops.
- Work with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to create programs that fit each community's needs.
- Organize and host educational workshops for adults.
- Meet with residents to provide support and connect them with resources
- Share information about rental, food, and other assistance programs
- Overall all activities to ensure they run smoothly
- Communicate regularly with onsite staff
- Meet weekly with your supervisor to review program and goals
- Submit monthly reports on activities and impact
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required (bilingual)
- Be legally eligible to serve in Puerto Rico
- Experience in event planning, social impact, ministry, or human services
- Excellent listening/communication skills in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
- Ability to provide after-hours or weekend activities as needed
- Basic computer skills
- Able to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports
- Access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors
- Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds
- Have the availability to commit weekly time to serve and complete volunteer responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home
- Be able to make the minimum volunteer term commitment to serving in the apartment community
- Experience serving at-risk populations and students
- Previous event planning experience
- Experience working within a budget
- Some relevant experience using social media
- Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners
