Assists in the administration/coordination of security/collateral on loans. Includes, but not limited to, within the proper jurisdictions, initiating, maintaining, and verification of security interest filings, disbursing checks to Departments of Motor Vehicle and/or other state agencies, and attending to the renewal of security interest filings.
Reviews list of paid loans. Processes notices of payoff received by mail and/or forwarded from branch staff.
Prepares security instruments for signature and release in a timely manner. Prepares lien releases for members. Tracks/researches security/collateral exceptions. Works with retail dealers, DMV or other state agencies to resolve security/collateral exceptions and ensure proper recordation of security interest filings on such property. Oversees the collection of fees related to the loan perfection process to ensure proper posting.
Provides professional internal member service and support to other departments by answering questions and providing information regarding the resolution of security/collateral issues or other documentation requests. Demonstrates professionalism in discussing sensitive financial situations. Creates, coordinates and delivers staff training in the area of Loan Perfection.
Assists in the responsibility for automated Electronic Lien and Title (ELT) administration via FDI and DMV. Utilizes system-generated reports to perform quality control of automated ELT records. Coordinates with internal data processing and outside vendors to ensure the continued operational integrity of the automated ELT system. Provides status reports to supervisor on a weekly basis. Collects data for semi-annual audit of security interest fillings. Reviews and verifies invoices from related vendors.
Performs a variety of administrative duties that require knowledge of departmental/organizational procedures and paperwork that include correspondence, memos, forms, tables and reports. Establishes and maintains a variety of ledgers, records, files and tickler systems. Develops, provides, and/or assists in the preparation of requested administrative reports. Researches and responds to member or staff inquiries.
Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles, of Team Up, Inspire Promoters, Challenge Yourself and Own It.
Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Perform other administrative and/or lending support related duties as assigned by the Auto Loan Servicing Manager or AVP of Loan Servicing Operations.
Minimum two (2) years branch operations and/or title/lien placement experience required. Previous experience as a teller, bookkeeper, title/note clerk preferred.
A high school education or GED.
Ability to use interpersonal, communication skills effectively in a team environment. Ability to perform all job functions in an accurate, timely and professional manner. Ability to understand and to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with issues and concerns as they arise.
Excellent math ability and skill.
Great attention to detail.
Ability to use standard office equipment, including, but not limited to: PC, fax, copier, telephone, postage machine.
