Aprio is seeking a Senior Manager, Tax to lead complex, multi-entity tax compliance and advisory engagements across a diverse client portfolio. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical resource and primary client relationship owner, driving engagement quality and delivering proactive planning insights that help clients manage their tax obligations and identify meaningful opportunities.
You will play a key role in developing tax professionals, shaping practice growth, and supporting the firm's continued expansion of client service capabilities across diverse industries and markets. Lead and manage complex federal, state, and local tax compliance engagements for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, individuals, trusts, and/or other entities
Review complex tax returns, workpapers, estimates, extensions, and related filings to ensure technical accuracy, quality, and timely completion
Research and interpret complex tax laws, regulations, rulings, and guidance; prepare technical memoranda and communicate findings to clients and internal stakeholders
Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to help clients manage tax obligations, identify opportunities, and mitigate risk
Serve as a primary client contact for assigned engagements, building strong relationships and delivering responsive, high-quality service
Manage engagement budgets, timelines, staffing, billing, realization, and overall profitability
Supervise, train, mentor, and review the work of tax associates, seniors, and managers; provide timely coaching and performance feedback
Collaborate with partners and leadership on client strategy, technical matters, service opportunities, and practice growth initiatives
Support tax notice responses, examinations, and controversy matters, including communication with taxing authorities as needed
Maintain current knowledge of tax law changes and industry trends, and communicate relevant impacts to clients and team members
