Responsible for leading core treasury activities while expanding the function's structured trade finance capabilities to support commodity trading growth, liquidity optimization, and working capital efficiency. The role manages cash forecasting, liquidity planning, bank account optimization, affiliate loan administration, letters of credit, treasury systems, and reporting, while also supporting the structuring, negotiation, execution, and monitoring of trade finance and structured working capital solutions. The position partners closely with Commercial, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Accounting, affiliates, parent companies, and external banking counterparties to deliver fit-for-purpose financing structures, mitigate transaction risk, and enhance operational efficiency during ongoing treasury, offshore service provider, and trading platform transitions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead weekly and monthly cash forecasting, analyze trends, and collaborate with affiliates and cross-functional teams to improve forecast accuracy, visibility, and accountability.
  • Monitor and manage liquidity, cash flow, bank balances, short-term investments, FX requirements, and provide recommendations to optimize funding and working capital.
  • Manage and optimize bank accounts, banking platforms, payment formats, and treasury processes; recommend banking structure improvements that support business growth and control efficiency.
  • Execute and oversee payments, disbursements, and daily treasury service delivery while maintaining appropriate controls, approvals, and operational discipline.
  • Oversee affiliate loan management, including compliance tracking, administration, balances, interest, documentation, and related reporting obligations.
  • Review, negotiate, issue, amend, and manage letters of credit, standby letters of credit, guarantees, parent company guarantees, documentary credit arrangements, and other trade finance instruments.
  • Evaluate and help structure facilities and transaction-specific solutions such as receivables financing, inventory financing, supply chain finance, borrowing base concepts, prepayment structures, risk participation, and bank-supported working capital solutions.
  • Partner with Commercial, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Tax, Accounting, parent companies, and external banks to ensure financing structures are commercially viable, operationally executable, compliant, and appropriately documented.
  • Coordinate closely with the parent office in KSA on strategic financing considerations, approval requirements, guarantee-related matters, and communication of material treasury or structured trade finance developments.
  • Assess transaction economics, financing costs, tenor, collateral/security requirements, covenant implications, country and counterparty considerations, sanctions/compliance requirements, and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Monitor utilization, collateral support, documentation milestones, reporting requirements, covenant compliance, guarantee exposure, and maturity profiles for trade finance and structured finance arrangements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banking partners and financing providers to expand funding alternatives, benchmark market terms, and support competitive, scalable trade finance capacity.
  • Support the origination, structuring, negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of structured trade finance solutions for commodity transactions and strategic business opportunities.

 

  • Utilize SAP S4HANA effectively, support implementation of new modules, troubleshoot issues, document procedures, and contribute to improvements across treasury workflows.
  • Ensure timely month-end close support and provide periodic reports to parent companies, affiliates, and senior management.
  • Develop accurate treasury, liquidity, trade finance, and working capital reports, including key insights, trend analysis, performance indicators, facility utilization, exposure reporting, and forward-looking commentary.
  • Oversee accounting support related to derivatives and structured transactions, ensuring alignment with relevant accounting standards, internal policies, and stakeholder reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal delegations of authority, credit approvals, banking documentation, and policy requirements.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze KPIs for treasury and trade finance activities, driving continuous improvement, control effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support company guarantee reviews, corporate insurance matters, and ad hoc governance-related projects and analyses.
  • Lead special projects within Finance and Treasury.
  • Conduct analytical work for new contracts, business areas, and financing opportunities, producing consolidated forward-looking cash forecasts, financing cost analysis, and decision-support models.
  • Mentor entry-level team members, share knowledge across treasury and trade finance processes, and build team capability through documentation, training, and collaborative execution.
  • Undertake additional duties assigned, including complex financial modeling and strategic analysis.

 

  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate reconciliation, month-end close support, derivative and financing accounting, and alignment of treasury records.
  • Work closely with Compliance and Legal to support regulatory adherence, sanctions review, documentation quality, and timely completion of financing and guarantee requirements.
  • Engage with Middle Office, Risk, Operations, and Trading teams to align treasury strategies with trading activity, market trends, transaction economics, and operational readiness.
  • Partner with Finance leadership, affiliates, parent companies, Tax, and cross-functional teams on cash forecasting, facility usage, reporting, and capital efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintain proactive and regular communication with the parent office in KSA to ensure alignment on treasury priorities, structured trade finance matters, governance expectations, reporting requirements, and escalations requiring parent-level input or approval.

 

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external banks and financing providers, including regular communication on market terms, trade finance capacity, documentation, service quality, and facility performance.
  • Communicate with customers, counterparties, and stakeholders as appropriate to support trade finance execution, documentation flow, and service delivery.
  • Interact with various departments within Saudi Aramco and affiliated entities to align treasury and structured trade finance matters with broader organizational objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including cash flow forecasting, financing cost analysis, facility utilization analysis, and working capital impact assessment.
  • Solid understanding of trade finance solutions, including letters of credit, guarantees, receivables financing, inventory financing, supply chain finance, and other working capital structures.
  • Knowledge of banking platforms, payment formats, treasury systems, cash flows, forecasts, and trade finance documentation.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to work across Finance, Commercial, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, banks, and parent company stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review financing documentation, banking terms, guarantees, letters of credit, and reporting requirements.
  • Preferred: CTP, CFA, CPA, trade finance certification, or additional finance/treasury-related certifications.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in treasury operations, cash management, corporate finance, banking, trade finance, structured trade finance, commodity finance, or a related finance function.
  • Working knowledge of banking platforms and financial systems, including SAP S4HANA and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Practical understanding of letters of credit, standby letters of credit, guarantees, documentary credits, receivables financing, inventory financing, supply chain finance, prepayment structures, and other structured trade finance solutions.
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of financial, commercial, operational, and market information and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Cross-functional and cross-business understanding to assess broader impacts of financing structures, liquidity decisions, compliance requirements, and working capital initiatives.
  • Preferred: Previous leadership, supervisory, project leadership, or bank-facing negotiation experience in treasury, trade finance, or commodity finance.
