About Arc of Greater New Orleans A group of concerned parents joined forces in 1953 to provide better lives for their children who, because of developmental delays and intellectual disabilities, were not able to participate in everyday society.
The Direct Support Professional for Supported Employment shall assist individuals with developmental disabilities in various supported employment roles including janitorial, retail, shirt printing, and hospitality. Staff are responsible for ensuring clients are supported in their work environments and transported safely between group employment sites.
- Support clients in performing job duties across multiple employment settings including janitorial, retail, shirt printing, and hospitality.
- Transport clients between group employment sites using a reliable personal vehicle with valid insurance.
- Assist clients with lifting and moving items weighing up to 30–40 pounds as needed.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and safe for clients.
- Monitor and report client progress and participation in employment activities.
- May be required to perform other non-specified duties.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience in direct support roles or working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass DOT physical
- Valid Louisiana driver’s license and auto insurance required.
- Ability to lift and move 30–40 pounds constantly
