About The Arc of Greater New Orleans The Arc of Greater New Orleans (ArcGNO) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives.
Our Drivers are responsible for safely fulfilling our participants' transportation needs, including transporting them to and from our administrative facility in Metairie and to offsite events as needed. They are also tasked with keeping our vehicles clean and reporting any issues regarding vehicle maintenance and safety to their supervisor.
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to passengers transported by the Arc
- Ensuring all passengers are properly seated and secured in vehicles
- Ensuring people in wheelchairs are safely secured
- Ensuring proper supervision of passengers
- Follow all safety protocols including reporting accidents, following all traffic safety laws, and ensuring the safety of all passengers
- Maintains daily trip logs and other related paperwork
Requirements
~1 min read- Must be 21 years of age or older & have a valid driver’s license
- Drivers must have a clean motor vehicle report and be insurable under the agency's insurance
- Maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass DOT physical
- Experience working alongside individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of the New Orleans metro and surrounding areas
