Step into the role of a Stevedore Supervisor for ADM Terminal Stevedores INC and lead our team to new levels of success! In this position, you will oversee Vessel Loading operations while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. Job Duties

• Lead stevedore teams during vessel loading and unloading operations.
• Exhibit regular and prompt attendance

• Ensure all cargo handling activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, port regulations, and industry standards.

• Conduct pre-shift briefings to provide teams with clear instructions, safety guidelines, and operational objectives.
• Coordinate with hourly colleagues and elevator management to develop a safe and efficient daily work plan for safe and efficient loading on a shift basis
• Capable of filling out, processing and filing reports which involve math skills
• Leadership characteristics, able to motivate others and demonstrate team building skills

• Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed
• Always Exhibit a professional image, maintain a positive and supportive attitude

• Train, mentor, and assess stevedoring staff to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.

• Perform daily facility walkthroughs  
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly inspections and document results on computer-based programs 
• Able to work in Ocean-going Vessel Cargo Holds, and around bodies of water
• Ensure adherence to all environmental, safety, and health regulations.

Job Requirements

• Proven leadership skills (Operations)
• Strong mathematic and organizational skills
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent ***
• Must have or be able to acquire a TWIC Card** 
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift 50 pounds, very hands-on and involves working in extreme conditions
• General computer and calculator knowledge (familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & web-based skills)
• Ability to work under pressure, think on your feet, flexibility to switch gears as needed, strategize and implement solutions as problems arise.
• Should be open to travelling within a 20-mile radius as needed.

 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with an on-call schedule commencing after training.
Hours: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with potential extensions based on business needs.
Relocation: Not available for this position.

Staffing:
Responsible for the review of staffing needs and make appropriate changes for operational effectiveness

• Review applications for employment, interviews and fulling of needed positions
• Colleague profiles maintained for vacation and attendance
• Conduct performance reviews
• Assist in mitigation of HR and staffing conflict resolutions
• Vacation requests
• Ensure ADM mandated job and safety training is conducted
• Ensure staffing needs are met while making sure that hours worked are minimized when applicable

Maintenance:

• Review current crane barge operational condition, applicable documents and the current condition and needs of crane barge(s)
  • Investigation of issues and appropriate action or communications to address issues
• Involvement to resolve any crane barge downtime greater than 1hr and reported to management to assist with resolution. 
• All personnel should be involved in the assistance with critical maintenance projects
  • Shift Lead should be involved with completion and expediting of repairs
• Rigs in Fleet Maintenance – all personnel involved and provided specific tasks, completion timeframes and completion of tasks monitored
  • Monitor maintenance needs and requirements for working hours of colleagues and contractors while performing fleet work. Minimized as needed.
  • Ensure that colleagues selected for crane barge watch have specific tasks or items to complete
  • Ensure that crane barge shutdown procedures are followed

Safety:
Involved in promotion of a positive safety culture with colleagues and always looking for ways to improve colleague safety.  

• Ensure that Daily Safety Meetings are conducted for colleagues
  • Review the Safety Meeting topics as needed.  Topics may include changes in SOP’s, recent incidents, Near Misses, etc.
• Review & ensure applicable safety forms are completed: JSA’s, LOTO, Hotwork …etc
• Ensure colleagues and personnel are following ADM safety standards
• Review and ensure SOP’s and Work Instructions are being followed
• Ensure appropriate drills are conducted accordingly: man overboard, fire (testing of alarms)
• Applicable incidents or Near Miss’s are investigated, documented and resolutions completed
• Development and implementation of SOP’s and Work Instructions
• Review and ensure that crane barge is outfitted with appropriate safety equipment

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
