The Mechanical Technician will support extrusion manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment. This role works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to maximize equipment reliability, support capital projects, and contribute to safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives in a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain extrusion production equipment and support systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, rebuilds, installations, and facility expansion projects.
- Support equipment reliability initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Collaborate with engineers, maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendors during maintenance and project activities.
- Help diagnose and resolve equipment failures to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency.
- Support commissioning and startup of new equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical/control system issues.
- Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Effective communication and organizational skills.
Willingness to work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience in aluminum extrusion, metals manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, servo systems, and motion control equipment.
- Experience supporting Capital projects, equipment installations or machine rebuilds
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques, vibration analysis or reliability programs
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing requirements and quality systems such as AS9100 or NadCap
- Experience working in casting, foundry, or molten metal environments
