The DSP, Community Living Services/Residential will be committed to supporting the organization’s mission of ensuring quality support services are provided and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are both respected and afforded opportunities to choose and participate in and access community events, activities, and resources.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and fulfilling their dreams by having a “person-centered” focus.
- →Teach independent living and daily skills to the persons-served by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and health care needs such as daily grooming and personal care routines.
- →Actively plans, coordinates, and participates with residents in social activities including frequent community outings.
- →Instructs, supports and participates in performing household tasks with persons served such as cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc.
- Is a transitioning adult
- Has traveled to 10 countries
- Loves being active and heavily engaged in the community
- Participates in dance classes, swimming, Zumba, cheerleading, Night to shine dances and am opening to learning new interests
- Uses basic sign language
- Has an important interest in being pretty and "cute"
Requirements
~1 min read- Earned High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to communicate effectively with the individuals to whom services are provided
- Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or with other types of special needs populations (rehabilitation settings, nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals, other behavioral health settings, etc.)
