Ares is seeking an Associate, Full Stack Engineer to contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of technology solutions powering the firm’s global credit investment platform.
Reporting to the VP, Credit Engineering Lead, this role will serve as a hands-on software engineer within the Credit Technology Engineering team, responsible for developing applications, APIs, data services, and platform capabilities across the credit investment lifecycle, including deal origination, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, risk management, and investment analytics.
The successful candidate will contribute directly to software development while partnering with senior engineers on technical design, implementation, code quality, testing, and production support. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building modern enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate will bring experience with full-stack development, Java-based backend services, React front-end development, relational and non-relational databases, APIs, and modern software delivery practices. Financial services, investment management, credit, lending, or alternative asset management technology experience is preferred but not required.
This individual will collaborate closely with engineers, Product Management, Investment Technology stakeholders, and business partners to deliver scalable, maintainable, and high-quality technology solutions that support the firm’s growing credit business.

~1 min readThe anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$100,000 - $120,000
