About the Role
~1 min readThe Sustainability Analyst Biofuels is responsible for all activities which guarantee the correct sustainability claims, maintain the sustainability certifications, including the actual GHG calculations and timely handling of all incoming and outgoing sustainability documentation.
You will come to the office in Amsterdam Westpoort and can already see a vessel being loaded at Argent’s Jetty. The day starts with getting a fresh cup of coffee or tea and you will start up your laptop while chatting to your sustainability colleagues. You start by checking your e-mail for the latest updates, answer e-mails and prioritize your tasks of the day. First you will review incoming purchase and sales contracts in our ERP system. Once this is done, you will work on your mass balance to check the incoming sustainability documents of arrived purchase orders to ensure everything is correct, followed by solving the monthly puzzle in optimizing the right feedstock allocations for the right markets; taking into account feedstock eligibility, GHG % savings (compared to fossil fuels) and documentation due dates. You will work closely with your sustainability colleagues to optimize all mass balances over our sites. You will send the customers the requested outgoing sustainability documents. By this time, you will either have lunch or might go for a lunch walk with your colleagues from Trade, Sustainability or Supply Chain. After lunch, you start preparing the upcoming ISCC-EU audit for the site which will take place in 2 weeks’ time. For this you make sure the GHG calculator is updated, all Standard Operating Procedures are up to date and valid, all incoming and outgoing documents are available and the mass balance is reconciled with the physical stock for each month over the last year. You end your day with a call with the trader to align on what still can be sold for the next period.
