Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a qualified individual to provide administrative duties to the unit manager.

Job Duties:

-Reviews and summarizes correspondence/data to generate letters or reports
-Screens and routes incoming calls and answers general inquires
-Summarizes data to generate reports
-Serves as the unit timekeeper
-Establishes and maintains administrative /confidential files
-Generates purchase orders and maintains the unit office supplies
-Functions as lead office support/training other clerical staff
-Maintains post orders/department policies and procedures
-Drives on State business
-Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
-General office practices and procedures
-Personal computers, using Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
-Business English and basic mathematics
-Payroll practices and procedures

Skill in:
-Written and verbal communication
-Report generation including style and format
-Providing detail-oriented results
-Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships
-Time management and prioritization
-Scheduling and coordinating meetings
-Transcribing meeting minutes

Ability to:
-Work in a prison environment
-Maintain confidentiality
-Adapt to changing priorities
-Handle detailed work with accuracy and speed
-Learn and adhere to department policies and procedures

Selective Preference(s):

-Two years professional office experience and proficient in Google Suite.

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test*.

Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
Current ADCRR Employees: Consult with your respective Human Resources Liaison if you are in a different retirement plan than the one indicated above.
