The opportunity
Reporting to the Materials and Process Planning Manager, we have a newly created opportunity for a Process Planner Team Lead. You will assign and supervise the work of the team and take ownership of reviewing and confirming Bills of Materials (BOMs) from Design and Development to ensure they align with manufacturing processes. Acting as a critical lead resource, you will manage plan releases for short and long-lead time purchases, develop procedures for plan templates, reconcile design files, and oversee updates based on change control triggers.
Working at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing, you will help translate product designs into executable manufacturing plans, ensuring products move efficiently from concept to production. You will collaborate cross-functionally throughout the production order lifecycle, participating in pre-production meetings, communicating BOM changes, and preparing reports.
This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is a full-time role, working 5 days a week in the Scarborough office.

Professional development. You will deepen your expertise in manufacturing process planning, BOM management, supply chain coordination, ERP/MRP systems, and production readiness while expanding your leadership capabilities. This role offers exposure to multiple business functions and provides a pathway toward broader operations, manufacturing, project management, and production leadership opportunities.
You will focus on:
- Master file maintenance. You will define key production master files to support material planning and tracking. You will verify the accuracy of BOMs, manage imports, address errors, and support plan development. You will coordinate with production to reflect sampling results in finalized BOMs.
- Plan releases. You will coordinate plan releases to meet manufacturing requirements, taking into account long lead-time purchases. You will manage and communicate updates.
- Change control. You will assess the impact of BOM changes on production, cost, inventory, and procurement. You will update process plans, order plans, and item master files with BOM changes. You will communicate changes to ensure accurate manufacturing execution.
- Pre-production planning. You will participate in cross-functional planning meetings to align on project scope, timelines, and strategies. You will collaborate with Materials and Production Planning Managers to define manufacturing approaches. You will review and coordinate demand forecasts to support material and capacity planning.
- Team supervision. You will guide and support planners in creating master files and plans. You will audit files for accuracy and compliance. You will manage tasks and timelines in alignment with project plans. You will coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable while creating an environment that supports continuous learning and performance improvement.
- KPI Analysis. You will generate reports to track KPI performance. You will support and implement initiatives to improve KPIs. You will develop procedures and practices to benchmark and enhance KPI metrics. You will leverage advanced data analysis to identify trends, recommend operational improvements, and support decision-making across manufacturing and supply chain functions.
You have:
- The experience. You have experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment within process planning, manufacturing engineering, production planning, supply chain, or a related discipline. You understand how products move from design through procurement and into manufacturing and have hands-on experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing documentation, engineering changes, and production readiness activities. You can evaluate production requirements, materials, routing, and process impacts, while effectively managing priorities, timelines, resources, and cross-functional communication in a fast-paced environment.
- The technical skills. You can read, interpret, update, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other planning documentation. You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills and experience using databases and reporting tools to analyze data and track KPI performance. You are highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of translating complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- The leadership. You have experience leading, coaching, and developing teams in a manufacturing environment, including direct reports and temporary staff. You set clear expectations, delegate effectively, and hold teams accountable while supporting performance improvement and maintaining strong working relationships. You are confident in communicating across all levels of the organization, from frontline employees to senior leadership, and influence decisions through clear, data-driven recommendations. You are a hands-on leader who drives accountability and performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $78,000 CAD annually. Compensation is thoughtfully determined based on your experience, skill set, and alignment with our internal compensation framework. We’re always happy to answer questions about compensation throughout the hiring process.
