Position Summary
The Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) is responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising evidence-based physical training programs to improve strength, power, speed, agility, endurance, and overall readiness of assigned personnel. The SCC works as part of a multidisciplinary performance team and ensures safe, effective, and mission-focused training. This position requires adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to conduct training in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strength and conditioning programs for individuals and groups.
- Conduct physical assessments, movement screenings, and performance evaluations.
- Demonstrate and instruct proper exercise techniques for strength, power, conditioning, speed, and agility.
- Monitor training loads, track progress, and adjust programming based on assessments and readiness indicators.
- Collaborate with athletic trainers, physical therapists, nutrition specialists, and other performance staff.
- Maintain a safe and organized training environment and ensure proper equipment usage.
- Educate personnel on proper lifting mechanics, recovery strategies, and injury-prevention techniques.
- Maintain documentation, training records, and reports in accordance with program standards.
- Support training indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and cold.
- Have the ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university.
Certifications
- NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
OR - CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
OR - Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification.
Experience
- Minimum of three full years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five years.
Additional Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 45 pounds.
- Must be able to conduct training in all types of weather conditions.
