As an Engineer I, Manufacturing Engineering at ASM Singapore, you’ll play a key role in driving operational excellence across our semiconductor equipment production lines. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges, improve cycle times, and ensure product quality and delivery. Your work will directly support ASM’s mission to deliver cutting-edge technology to global customers.
Responsibilities

- →Partner with Global Operations teams (Manufacturing, Production Planning, Procurement, and Quality Engineering) to optimize manufacturing processes, cycle time, assembly sequence, and quality.
- →Provide first-line engineering support to resolve daily operational issues in semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
- →Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet daily product delivery targets aligned with production schedules and quality standards.
- →Perform systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis of manufacturing issues and deviations.
- →Define and create manufacturing procedures, build/test sequences, and quality documentation (e.g., work instructions, test procedures, inspection checklists).
- →Liaise with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams to drive timely solutions.
- →Lead continuous improvement projects focused on quality, cost, capacity, and efficiency.
- →Deliver tooling and test equipment that meet product requirements and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Candidates with relevant internship experience will also be considered.
- Experience in equipment assembly and test within the Semiconductor or Capital Equipment industry.
- Familiarity with material fabrication processes, component installation, and assembly integration.
- Understanding of Bill of Materials structure and revision changes.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving change.
- Knowledge of operational excellence tools such as Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, 8D, PDCA, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Cpk, GR&R, and SPC.
- Experience in New Product Introduction or technology transfer.
- User-level experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
