Your Role

• Provide 2nd line engineering and controls expertise to support troubleshooting of building services plant, equipment and control systems.

• Lead primarily on gas system related issues, providing advice and direction.

• Review and respond to BMS alarms, resolving issues remotely where possible and raising work tasks when required.

• Support maintenance engineers with advanced fault finding and develop team capability in BMS and controls systems.

• Provide technical information and guidance to maintenance teams to support effective service delivery.

• Identify improvements that reduce plant failures, customer calls and operational risk.

• Provide regular reporting on alarm management and system performance.

• Escalate lifecycle replacement requirements through the risk escalation process with supporting technical justification.

• Review subcontractor quotations for BMS and control system works and undertake suitable technical tasks.

What We're Looking For

• Qualifications: BTEC Level 3, trade apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in gas, mechanical or electrical engineering, or relevant job-related experience.

• Experience: Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating and hot water systems, with the ability to interpret system schematic drawings. Experience supporting maintenance operations and troubleshooting complex building services systems is essential.

• Skills: Excellent diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical approach to fault finding. Strong communication skills, effective workload prioritisation and excellent Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge are required.
