We are seeking a dependable and technically skilled Systems Administrator to support the daily operation, maintenance, and improvement of our IT infrastructure across corporate and remote locations. This role will work closely with the ICT Manager and the existing Level II Systems Administrator, helping to ensure the stability, security, and performance of server environments, cloud platforms, endpoint management, and core infrastructure services.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical professional who is comfortable with administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, documentation, and user/system support within a multi-site environment. This role is intended to strengthen the infrastructure team by taking ownership of operational responsibilities and assisting with infrastructure projects, allowing senior technical staff to focus on higher-level architecture, automation, and DevOps initiatives.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Administer, maintain, and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and print services.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks such as user/account provisioning, permissions management, server health checks, service monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of virtual environments (VMware) and associated infrastructure.
  • Assist with the management of Microsoft 365 and Azure services, including identity, licensing, access, and basic cloud resource administration.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, backups, and alerts; identify and resolve issues proactively or escalate when appropriate.
  • Support patch management processes for servers and infrastructure systems to maintain security and compliance.
  • Assist with endpoint and server hardening efforts in alignment with organizational security standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues involving servers, authentication, storage, remote access, and enterprise applications.
  • Support backup operations, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity processes through monitoring, testing, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and current technical documentation for systems, processes, configurations, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with network, help desk, application, and security teams to support integrated IT operations.
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Provide escalation support for complex support issues and serve as a technical resource for other IT team members when needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution, maintenance, and support cases.
  • Follow established change management, incident response, and operational procedures.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in systems administration in a business or multi-site environment.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services.
  • Exposure to or working knowledge of VMware administration and virtual server environments.
  • Experience administering or supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Experience with patching, monitoring, backup systems, and troubleshooting infrastructure issues.
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices related to system administration, access control, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Windows Server administration
    • Active Directory and Group Policy
    • Microsoft 365 administration
    • VMware virtualization
    • Backup and recovery solutions
    • Server, systems and endpoint monitoring tools
  • Experience with PowerShell for administration and basic automation preferred.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing basics, and firewall interaction with systems infrastructure.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve system, server, and authentication issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a practical, service-oriented mindset.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the role.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small IT team.

Required to move or relocate computer equipment; must be able to lift 25+ pounds and have excellent manual dexterity.

Required to work outside of normal working hours.
