- Assess and remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from manufactured components as required to meet part and / or customer specifications.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Remove burrs or excess metal from machined parts.
- →Ensure that parts are handled and moved and packaged with the appropriate care required for space-based products.
- →Act as tool crib backup as needed.
- →Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks.
- →Clean work areas.
- →Temporary assignment to various Atec facilities may be required as needed to support Atec operations.
- →Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- →Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
- Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
- Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.
- Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
- Cooperate with Auditors.
- Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
- Must have knowledge of fundamental mathematics.
- Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, or crouch.
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Good eyesight, by lenses if necessary.
- Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Extended work hours and/or travel may occasionally be required
