As a Product Engineering Intern, you'll be part of the team that transforms alloy designs into manufacturable, high-performance products. You’ll apply your materials science or mechanical engineering background to optimize microstructure, improve product specifications, and enhance process capability in real production environments.

Depending on your project assignment, you may:

Optimizing Boeing shapes processing parameters to support process performance and consistency.
Standardizing reheat points for nickel (Ni) shapes and rectangles.
Supporting process improvement activities related to materials processing and metallurgy.
Applying materials science and metallurgical concepts to hands-on manufacturing projects.

Hands-on experience in materials processing and process metallurgy.

Practical exposure to processing parameters and process standardization.

Experience working with nickel shapes and rectangles and related manufacturing processes.

Opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment.

Experience that aligns directly with potential Process Metallurgist opportunities at ATI after graduation.

Requirements

Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a B.S. in:

Materials Science & Engineering
Metallurgical Engineering
Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred)
Interest in product development, metallurgy, or high-performance alloy applications
Familiarity with Excel, data analysis tools, or metallurgical lab techniques
