Part-Time Facility Security Officer (FSO)
ATI has a current need for a Part-Time Facility Security Officer (FSO).
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized part-time Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee, implement, and maintain our organization’s security policies and plans, DCSA account management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure full compliance with government regulations (such as NISPOM), manage applicable DCSA security accounts for cleared employees/facilities, safeguarding company assets, personnel, and sensitive/proprietary information.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Security Compliance & Administration
- Maintain and enforce company security policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and government security guidelines (e.g., 32 CFR Part 117 / NISPOM).
- Manage candidate clearance processing, background checks, and personnel security files (e.g., via DISS / NISS).
- Conduct initial security briefings, annual refresher trainings, and debriefings for departing employees.
- Coordinate with other members responsible for security training, physical security, and security program implementation and monitoring.
- Incident & Risk Management
- Investigate, document, and report security breaches, unauthorized disclosures, or suspicious activities.
- Perform periodic internal security audits, risk assessments, and facility self-inspections.
- Coordinate with external authorities, emergency responders, and government auditors (e.g., DCSA) during reviews or inspections.
- Operational & Physical Security
- Create/review/update emergency action plans, fire/safety protocols, and business continuity readiness.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a US citizen and must be eligible to obtain and maintain clearance; Candidate must be able to work independently in a secure or sensitive environment.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of experience as an FSO, Assistant FSO, or Security Specialist.
- Certifications: Completion of the CDSE Facility Security Officer (FSO) certification for Possessing/Non-Possessing Facilities is highly preferred.
- Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of DISS, NISS, e-QIP / NBIS, and standard clearance workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in security software, access control platforms, and standard Microsoft Office / Workspace tools.
- High ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay Range: $35.00-$40.00/hour
depending on experience.
Location: Columbia, MD
Working Hours: Flexible part-time schedule (approx. 15 to 20 hours per week).
