POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of the Medical Equipment Planning and Procurement (MEPP) team will lead and oversee both new construction and major renovation projects for one or more facilities at a time. Projects may include deNovos, new builds, acquisitions, and existing facility support through all phases (planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, equipment, closeout, and warranty phases). The primary role of the Director of MEPP is to coordinate planning, design, procurement, and deployment of medical equipment for contracted projects. The Director is expected to lead the team with working in the MEPP planning database, Smartsheet, Envi, and Bluebeam and working to keep all electronic project files updated and organized, maintain project budgets for Design and Construction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leads all aspects of medical equipment planning and procurement for new construction and major renovation projects across Atlas’ markets, joint ventures, and surgery centers in ASC operations.
Participates in all phases of the project plan including early planning, design, permitting, construction, mobilization and closeout for assigned projects.
Develop and execute strategic plans for the MEPP department in alignment with Atlas mission, vision and values.
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
Communicates with executives and senior leadership on project statuses and coordinates with other department leaders/team members to ensure successful completion of projects and initiatives.
Collaborate with senior management to establish departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics.
Develops and implements efficient processes and workflows to streamline MEPP operations, improving productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct regular vendor evaluations and performance reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards and service level agreements.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, MEPP suppliers and vendors.
Performs quality control on projects from early planning to closeout to maintain the standards and outcomes expected.
Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to MEPP operations.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
5 – 7 years’ experience organizing and planning for MEPP system in a health system setting.
Well-developed understanding of End-to-End medical equipment planning and procurement with advanced financial understanding.
Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in business or finance.
Track record of influencing the external environment based on knowledge of social, political, regulatory, and economic issues affecting businesses domestically and globally.
Capable to articulate a vision, engage and mobilize employees around that vision, and deliver superior value.
Driving long-term, profitable, and sustainable growth in multiple functions, businesses, sectors and markets.
Experience in strategic planning and execution.
Leadership in change management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
FM - Typical Facilities/Maintenance/Outside Services Environment: (EVS Technician I, Electrician, Groundskeeper, M/R Courier)
Able to stand, climb, stoop, bend frequently; positions require considerable physical activity.
May be required to lift to 75 pounds.
Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces.
Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.
Needs adequate color vision. Must wear protective clothing as required.
May be required to travel to various locations.
Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes direct supervisory responsibility for assigned department staff, including managers, analysts, and support staff.
DIRECTLY REPORTING
Reports to the Vice President of Procurement Services
TYPE OF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has full managerial scope and authority for employment actions, including coaching, candidate selection, training and development, performance appraisals, work assignments, and disciplinary action.

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
The Director will be working across Atlas’ markets, joint ventures, and surgery centers in ASC operations to develop and implement long- and short-term strategies that optimize the total delivered cost of clinical and non-clinical supplies and equipment while maintaining high quality, safety, and service to those served. They will collaborate with other senior leaders to develop a solid understanding of foundational philosophies, goals, and objectives. The position requires exceptional human relations and communications skills and the ability to build consensus among diverse groups. It also requires the ability to perform financial and operational assessments of strategic opportunities and present findings and recommendations to executive-level leadership and the Board of Directors.
