Avalanche Studios Group is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer for our central technology organisation, Tech Foundations. In this crossfunctional team we innovate in areas that push the boundaries for what open-world sandbox gaming means as well as enhance our players' online experience within our live-service games.

The Position:

In this role, you will contribute to developing and optimising our backend platform, Apex Connect, and its infrastructure in the cloud. Apex Connect is an integral part of the Apex Engine suite, a robust set of tools and services driving our live-service games. It plays a pivotal role in engaging millions of active players globally, providing essential services such as user authentication, data tracking, live event management, and advanced matchmaking.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be a part of our engineering team, focusing on setting up, operating, and refining our infrastructure in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Designing, implementing and maintaining our backend platform infrastructure architecture

Ensuring that our infrastructure is scalable, secure, performant and cost-efficient

Leading the transition and expansion of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Improving our CI/CD pipeline to ensure developer experience as well as service stability

Supporting other members of the team, fostering an inclusive environment of growth and development within Tech Foundations

Provide technical excellence and problem solving

Be a champion for cost-efficiently running services in commercial cloud environments

Be a champion for the scaling of backend infrastructure to meet high availability requirements

3+ years of professional experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure (preferably GCP)

Able to set and explain measurable goals for service quality

Experience with Redis, Memcache, or equivalent

Experience working with package management and dependency
