Join an established manufacturing engineering environment focused on improving production efficiency, workstation performance, layout optimization, and operational reliability. This team supports plant-level engineering initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing setting where accuracy, collaboration, and practical problem-solving are essential. The role will contribute directly to evaluating workstations, improving process flow, updating layouts, and supporting projects that help production teams operate more efficiently and consistently.
Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)
This is an onsite opportunity in North Charleston, South Carolina, with a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role offers hands-on exposure to manufacturing process improvement, facility layout updates, station evaluations, and engineering support within a production environment.
- Evaluate production stations, work methods, layouts, and workflows to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Study time, motion, methods, machine capacity, and production schedules to support standard work and operational improvements.
- Update and maintain manufacturing layouts using AutoCAD and related engineering tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, specification sheets, and production documentation.
- Partner with management, engineering, and production teams to determine quality, reliability, and process standards.
- Prepare charts, diagrams, workflow visuals, reports, and data summaries to support process improvement recommendations.
- Observe equipment usage and production activities to verify compliance with operational and quality expectations.
- Support planning of work assignments based on worker performance, equipment capacity, schedules, and anticipated delays.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required.
- 5+ years of relevant manufacturing, industrial engineering, or process improvement experience required.
- Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD required.
- Proficiency with Excel required, including the ability to analyze data, organize findings, and support reporting.
- Experience with 3D simulation software required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, technical documentation, and computer-generated reports.
- Experience creating sketches, engineering drawings, layouts, workflow diagrams, and production-related visuals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented team player who can exercise independent judgment while working under supervisor direction.
- Comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing plant environment.
