This team supports annuity and life insurance products in a highly regulated environment, partnering across product, technology, operations, actuarial, finance, data, and compliance to improve speed to market, strengthen servicing capabilities, and deliver scalable platform enhancements.
This is a full-time opportunity based in Durham, NC with a hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence three days per week. The role offers the opportunity to help shape enterprise insurance platforms, support annuity product launches, work closely with senior product and technology leaders, and contribute to meaningful modernization efforts across policy administration, financial processing, servicing workflows, and system integrations. - Own and help drive the product roadmap for assigned insurance platform capabilities, with a focus on annuity products, retail platform functionality, and policy administration systems.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate complex operational, financial, actuarial, and servicing needs into clear requirements and scalable system solutions.
- Support new annuity product implementations, ongoing platform enhancements, backlog refinement, and prioritization across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Work closely with Operations, Actuarial, Accounting, Finance, Data, Engineering, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure solutions are delivered accurately and efficiently.
- Analyze system behavior, data outputs, financial processing results, integrations, extracts, and operational workflows to identify issues, recommend improvements, and support decision-making.
- Improve speed to market by identifying inefficiencies, supporting automation opportunities, and helping balance new feature delivery with servicing needs and technical debt.
- Define outcomes and success measures that connect platform improvements to business impact, user experience, and operational effectiveness.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business systems analysis, IT delivery, or software delivery supporting enterprise applications.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, annuities, life insurance, or another highly regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with policy administration systems; FAST Policy Administration System experience is strongly preferred.
- Background supporting enterprise platforms, operational systems, financial services systems, or insurance product capabilities.
- Strong understanding of Agile, iterative delivery, backlog refinement, roadmap prioritization, requirements definition, and software development processes.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into actionable development requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and scalable system designs.
- Experience working with APIs, batch processing, enterprise integrations, extracts, system workflows, and downstream data dependencies.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to independently analyze, validate, and troubleshoot data.
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional business and technical teams, including Operations, Accounting, Actuarial, Data, Engineering, Finance, and Compliance.
- Strong analytical, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment with shifting business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience supporting annuity or life insurance products is strongly preferred.
