Job Title: Compliance Lead - Information and Records Management Location: Barrow-in-Furness.
As a Compliance Lead within Information and Records Management, you will support the Data and Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with the BAE Systems' Group-wide Information and Records Management policy. You will be ensuring that the business complies with certain obligations under its Nuclear Regulation Licence Conditions across all BAE Systems Submarine sites.
This role will also provide you with the opportunity to work closely alongside Information Records Management leads within the various Maritime business units and other UK Business Units
- You will be championing and driving compliance with BAE Systems' Information and Record Management policy, while actively collaborating with the Data and Compliance Manager to improve the digital and physical records management capabilities within the organisation so that the Business meets its legal, regulatory, contractual, operational and business requirements
- Supporting the Data and Compliance Manager as the lead and focal point for information and records management across the business. You will be inputting into the strategy for information management and becoming a recognised source for Submarine employees seeking guidance and ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality and protection of information
- Playing a key role in curating and managing the comprehensive suite of governance documents for Submarines Information Records Management, working closely with the Data and Compliance Manager to streamline processes and optimise efficiency
- You will be taking charge of governance and assurance initiatives to uphold high standards throughout the information lifecycle, ensuring seamless management and compliance at all stages
- Support the Data and Compliance Manager with compliance against Nuclear Site Licence requirements associated with the management of Nuclear Safety related information and records
- You will be assisting with the delivery of insightful reports on Information Records Management compliance within Submarines, including the biannual Operational Assurance Statement return, showcasing our commitment to transparency and accountability
- Managing the Submarines Archive Facility with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that all records and library items are stored, easily retrievable and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and best practice ensuring our organisation benefits from these resources
- You will require extensive knowledge of Information Records Management principles, standards and industry best practice
- Previous experience in a Governance and Assurance role will be needed
- You will need to be a competent user of SharePoint and Microsoft Office packages
Here in the team, we are responsible for managing key and critical elements of information and records compliance across the Submarines business. In this highly sensitive and complex environment, we manage capabilities, legalities and policies within records management whilst working to strict licensing conditions and with a range of other business units and stakeholders.
