Head of FP&A, IM&T

As IM&T embark on its transformation and modernisation programme, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head of FP&A.

Our IM&T delivery is operating in a rapidly developing environment against the backdrop of ever evolving cyber threats and increasingly strict regulatory and control environment.  Our business is growing, and we must ensure the cost of our IM&T delivery does not increase at the same rate.  We must digitalise further if we are to remain competitive, deliver on our contractual requirements and drive efficiency in service.

As Head of FP&A you will provide leadership, supporting the FBP CTIO and IM&T senior functional leads, working closely with both the Finance and IM&T teams within LoBs.  As such strong leadership skills, and confidence in establishing strong networks both within Finance and IM&T and with other functions will be required.  You will drive decision making through insights and data analytics together with setting strategic direction for FP&A on IM&T.

This FP&A role will be key in delivering new insights across a c£1bn per annum spend across the Group and supporting cost down initiatives.  The role will also be essential in supporting IM&T transformation and modernising Finance processes and systems to support IM&T requirements.

Your main responsibilities as Head of FP&A, IM&T:

·       Working in partnership with the IM&T Finance Business Partner and IM&T Function to drive financial and business performance across the enterprise covering c£1bn spend per annum.

·       Play a leading role in the definition of FP&A IM&T strategy to deliver insights and support the One DDC transformation programme

·       Accountability for defining, establishing and evolving quarterly reporting process providing insights against targets and cost down initiatives progress to deliver c£50m per annum savings with on-going emphasis around opportunities for achieving the deliverable

·       Accountability for establishing a robust baseline for IM&T cost of Function covering a headcount footprint of c2,500 FTEs and the monitoring and reporting of changes in line with One DDC transformation

·       Play a leading role in proposing a new operating model that will provide enhanced FP&A support to One DDC transformation

·       In conjunction with the FP&A Leadership team, play a leading role in IM&T insights requirements and solutions to satisfy those requirements i.e. Ad Astra, ERPs, Technology Based Solution

·       Lead the generation of the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) for IM&T to shape future demand and identify trends and insights in support of future planning

·       Collaborate and influence other Finance Capability Centres (FC&S, Rates) to manage the impact of any One DDC transformation changes

Your skills and qualifications:

·       Fully qualified accountant with previous experience in FP&A, financial accounting, also some experience in project accounting, and management accounting is essential.

·       Demonstrative ability to distil complex issues, opportunities, and challenges into a compelling narrative, while taking initiative and working with a high degree of autonomy.

·       Strong knowledge and experience on how to lead and influence multifunctional teams.

·       Broad knowledge of the Company strategy, products and services, company structure and company procedures.

·       A strong understanding of the BAES Financial Policies Manual and its appropriate application to FBP activities.
