PMO Governance Manager

 

An opportunity for promotion to Exec grade is now available in the Shared Services EIT P&P PMO Governance team due to internal promotion.

The PMO Governance Manager is responsible for delivering project governance functional process, capabilities and reporting for the EIT P&P team. They will ensure that all programme and projects are managed in accordance with the BAE Systems Project Management Policy, Lifecycle Management Framework Policy and Shared Services Processes and Procedures and drive governance, assurance and delivery excellence across the portfolios, as well as in the major suppliers who provide PM services to BAE / EIT and wider Shared Services.

You will also drive quality assurance with major suppliers to ensure adherence to agreed processes, implementation of continuous improvement activities and the embodiment of CI changes. 
This role has overall responsibility of all employee’s identified under the Programme and Projects (P&P) PMO Governance Team (5 headcount), and will report directly to the Head of PMO.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career within BAE Systems due to exposure gained across multiple business areas.

 

Your main responsibilities as PMO Governance Manager will involve: 

·       Overall responsibility and leadership of then P&P PMO Governance Team

·       Responsible for EIT LCM Compliance – Ensuring that all EIT Programme and projects apply governance and assurance in accordance with the BAE Systems Project Management Policy, Lifecycle Management Framework Policy and Shared Services Processes and Procedures.

·       Represent EIT on PM Function working groups, supporting improvement activities, change impact assessments and business change rollout activities relating to policies, processes, templates and toolsets.

·       Responsible for the assurance activity lead by the Governance PMO Analyst within P&P.

·       Responsible for P&P PMO Governance reporting and analysis to support BAU reporting, performance excellence and continuous improvement.

·       Own and manage the P&P aspects within the EIT Business Management System (BMS) – processes, artefacts, links, permissions and BMS audit requests.

·       Drive quality assurance with major suppliers to ensure adherence to agreed processes and delivery framework, the ongoing implementation of continuous improvement activities and the embodiment of CI changes

 

Your skills and qualifications:

·       Expert knowledge of Life Cycle Management, Project Management & Control and project methodologies

·       Experience of delivering business change to drive change embodiment and benefits realisation

·       Experience of leading and motivating successful teams

·       Ability to influence internal stakeholders

·       Collaborative working style both within own team and as part of wider cross functional teams

·       Ability to make judgments on analysis of information.

·       Practiced knowledge of project management processes for control and monitoring.

·       Confident user of computer-based Project Management tools including MS Project, MS Office, etc.

·       Incumbent would be expected to proceed to gain a PM Qualification such as the APM PMQ Qualification
